20 million euro 11,000sft former factory gets high tech makeover for college...

Ashdale were delighted to have been awarded the contract to supply and commission new "open protocol"
fire detection systems at the "design award winning" PJ Carrols Building on the Dundalk Institute of Technogly Campus. The former cigarette factory was bought by DKIT in 2002. It received funding in 2008 to commence refurbishment of the building

The fire detection system consisted of 3 addressable detection panels networked with a complex cause & effect strategy and included multiple ASD systems for roof void smoke detection.
Ashdale also supplied and commissioned two gas extinguishing systems, the disabled
refuge system and a Chloride 100KVA UPS with isolation transformer supporting a new computer centre for the campus with the Carroll building.

The Carrolls Building was completed in 2010, when the School of Informatics and Creative Arts took up full-time residence there as part of a 20 million euro refurbishment program for the building.
