The Role

The Fire and Security division are now looking for an Electrical Technician to join the team and support customers across Northern Ireland. The fire and security product range include, fire / intruder detection and alarm, IP CCTV, electronic access control systems, PAVA, nurse call system and fire suppression systems. An immediate start is available for the right candidate. Ideally you’ll have a background and experience in working with Fire and Security Systems but full manufacturer and on the job training will be provided. The role as an Electrical Technician, you will be tasked with carrying out a range of electrical works primarily with fire / intruder detection and alarm, IP CCTV and electronic access control systems. Commissioning and carrying out planned maintenance inspections, you will visit customers’ premises, providing courteous and a customer-focused service. You will undertake work, including minor installation work for fire, security and other related electrical systems, repairs, maintenance checks and commission new systems, ensuring they are in perfect working order and advising when changes need to be made. As part of your role, you will be required to participate in an on-call rota and undertake some out-of-hours work.

About You

To be considered as an Electrical Technician, you will ideally need: - At least three years’ experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and servicing electrical / electronic systems (post apprenticeship), ideally with experience of fire detection systems - An electrical and/or electronic qualification to Level 3, or higher - An understanding of the Fire and Security Industry including NSI & BAFE standards and regulations would be an advantage - The ability to carry out routine preventive maintenance and all necessary tests, fault finding procedures, and repairs on all types of electronic systems including fire, security, nurse call, access control, and power protection systems following training. - To be computer literate with experience of MS Office and service software tools - A full, valid driving licence - To be open to working flexible hours. A lesser qualification will be considered if you are able to demonstrate sufficient years of experience and knowledge.

Please note, the successful candidate will need to hold or be capable of achieving relevant security clearances, this is required for access to government and commercial properties. Core working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 5:00pm with some flexible / overtime hours as clients require. Other organisations may call this role Field Service Technician, Electrician, Electrical Engineer, Fire Systems Technician, Security Systems Technician, Electronics Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Mechanical & Electrical Technician.
